Shout Out
Celebrating the amazing things our corporate partners are doing to help us protect children, prevent abuse and transform society
Welcome to your summer edition of Shout Out, our newsletter for our family of corporate partners.
As the world keeps changing, we’re always listening to what children need so we can adapt and be here for them, long into the future. In this edition you’ll read about how we’re shaping the future of Childline for children with the support of our partners.
You’ll also learn about how small change is making a big difference with Lidl GB and Matalan, and be inspired by how NIVEA UK are funding connection.
Everything that we do is only made possible thanks to partners like you. So, thank you for all your time, energy, and expertise. Together we’re keeping children safe.
We're so pleased to announce that Jet2 have extended our partnership for another year, and look forward to another year working together for children.
Childline has been a lifeline for children and young people for 40 years - a place to turn when they feel there’s no one else to talk to.
But as the world changes, so do the challenges young people face.
That’s why we’re always evolving the service to meet children where they’re at. Since 2023, we’ve been ushering in an exciting new future for Childline, with Childline Vision.
We’re the same trusted service, but with new ways to reach even more children and young people.
Childline Vision has seen Childline grow into one service with three core offers, designed to meet different needs. Childline’s three core offers are:
We’ve also expanded Childline Twilight, our overnight service, offered more flexibility for volunteers, and we’re upgrading our technology so we can respond to more children, faster.
Together, with our partners, we’re building a future where every child has somewhere to turn - and someone who will listen - day or night.
We’re delighted to launch a new partnership with Matalan, who have committed to raise £650,000 for Childline, the NSPCC Helpline and our early years prevention programmes, over the next two years.
As well as taking part in colleague and customer fundraising activities across their 214 stores, head office and two distribution centres, Matalan are raising money for us through a charity ‘Bag for Life’, sales of babywear products and the launch of Pennies micro-donations in-store and online.
Over the next two years, Matalan’s support could help to:
- Answer 80,000 calls to Childline from children and young people when they reach out.
- Pay for two practitioners at our NSPCC Helpline for a year, providing vital help and support to adults concerned about a child’s welfare.
- Provide vital funding at each of our seven regional hubs across the UK, so we can deliver Pregnancy in Mind and Baby Steps, helping protect babies from the risk of abuse during their most vulnerable days and supporting families to have the best start.
Our Childline Twilight service supports children and young people who contact us at night, making sure that every child can access Childline, no matter what time it is.
This service is a particularly crucial resource, as many children feel especially vulnerable or alone during these hours.
Since April 2025 Lidl GB has been supporting Childline through the Twilight service, helping us to secure the future of this vital lifeline.
As part of Childline Vision we’ve opened more bases to operate overnight, in Cardiff, Leeds and Liverpool.
With these three extra bases running the Twilight service, we’re making sure that children who contact us in these hours are always able to access support.

“Together, we have created a safe space for those who need us most during the quiet hours, and that is something truly remarkable.”
Small change is making a big difference across our corporate partnerships, with Pennies helping customers at Lidl GB and Matalan turn everyday purchases into meaningful support for children and young people.
Through micro-donations Lidl customers have raised over £1 million in a single year, with two national Pennies campaigns. Every tap of a card has helped fuel Childline Twilight, our service offering a safe space for children who need someone to talk to outside typical hours.
We’re excited to say that Lidl was shortlisted at the 2025 Merchant Impact Awards, highlighting the power of micro‑donations to drive real community impact.
In February, we were delighted to welcome Lidl GB CEO Ryan McDonnell and colleagues to our Childline Base in London. On this visit the team presented NSPCC CEO Chris Sherwood with a cheque for £481,332.33 representing money raised in one of Lidl's Pennies campaigns.

Lidl GB isn’t our only partner embracing the power of micro-donations, as Matalan launches Pennies both online and across its 214 stores. Matalan shoppers now have the choice to round up at checkout or add a simple 20p donation in‑store.
These micro‑donations will help fund the NSPCC as well as Alder Hey Children’s Charity. The rollout is well underway, with Pennies going live nationwide and online at the end of June 2026. This new way to give strengthens Matalan’s commitment to supporting families and communities, making it easier than ever for customers to contribute to this cause.
Together, these partnerships show how small acts of kindness can help us be there for children when they need us most, a few pennies at a time.
One in 10 young people that contact Childline reach out regularly. They’re a small proportion but represent nearly half of those who need us during our peak hours.
In response to this need, we created Childline Connect.
This new aspect of the service is focused on giving those children who contact us regularly more consistency to support their long-term needs.
Connect allows young people to build a relationship with a Childline counsellor and reduces the need for young people to repeat themselves every time they contact Childline.
Young people are supported to create a ‘connect’ plan for how Childline can best support them, setting achievable goals which can include better managing their emotions and engaging with other support agencies.
NIVEA UK are supporting the children and young people who contact us regularly with a donation of £235,000 this year.
As part of their mission to reduce loneliness and social isolation in communities NIVEA UK are funding Childline Connect, committed to making sure every child receives the support they need.
During Loneliness Awareness Week in 2025, NSPCC staff visited NIVEA UK’s Birmingham headquarters.
Here NIVEA UK colleagues demonstrated their gratitude and commitment to Childline by writing personal thank you cards for our frontline volunteers.
More than 100 children are currently receiving support from Childline Connect*
* At the end March 2026, there were 103 young people receiving support from the Connect Service.
Children with a Connect plan engage with Childline through an appointment system. Thanks to NIVEA UK’s phenomenal support this year this means we’re able to provide that improved, more consistent, and tailored experience for these young people.
This structured approach works for everyone who needs Childline. Young people get a more bespoke service to meet their needs, and the Universal service has more capacity to handle contacts from young people who haven’t contacted Childline before.

Thank you for all that you do for children!
We’re securing the future for children, thanks to the support of every one of our corporate partners.
The challenges tomorrow's children will encounter are still unknown, but with your support we’ll continue to evolve to meet these challenges and be there for children, no matter what.
Thank you.
